Designed to empower local residents in rural and hilly regions of Uttarakhand to convert or build authentic tourist homestays while preserving traditional Garhwali and Kumaoni architecture.

50% capital subsidy (Max ₹15 Lakhs)
Category B (Mid Hills)
Almora, Bageshwar, Pauri, Tehri Garhwal
50% capital subsidy (Max ₹15 Lakhs)
Category C (Foot Hills)
Nainital & Dehradun hill areas
35% capital subsidy (Max ₹10 Lakhs)
Category D (Plains)
Haridwar & Udham Singh Nagar
25% capital subsidy (Max ₹7.5 Lakhs)
Eligible Assets & Expenditure
  • •Renovation or new construction of up to 6 tourist rooms
  • •Modern attached washrooms & sanitary fittings
  • •Traditional Kumaoni / Garhwali architectural facade elements
  • •Solar water heaters, guest beds, dining & furniture setup
Ineligible Costs (Exclusions)
  • •Properties exceeding 6 guest rooms (must apply under main Tourism Policy)
  • •Properties where the owner or family does not reside on-premise
  • •Rented commercial buildings without long-term residential title

  • ✓50% rebate on bank loan interest for the first 5 operating years
  • ✓3-year exemption from commercial property tax, commercial electricity & water tariffs
  • ✓Free promotional listing on the official Uttarakhand Tourism web portal
Mandatory Filing Checkpoints
  • 1.Applicant must be a permanent resident (domicile) of Uttarakhand.
  • 1.Valid land revenue record (Khatauni / registered deed) in applicant's name.
  • 1.Formal homestay registration approval from the District Tourism Development Officer.
